One pack of mineral rocks is sufficient for a 14-gallon tank and lasts 3 months. Depending on the size of your shrimp tank and the desired pH level, start by adding a few leaves to your tank. You can always remove or add more leaves as needed. For a variety of tank sizes, use full leaves in larger tanks and tear the leaves into smaller pieces for one to five-gallon tanks.

The amount of powder required depends not only on the tank size but also on the number of shrimps. For a standard 15-gallon tank, begin with one teaspoon per day. For 32-gallon tanks and larger, and/or if you have many shrimps, a heaping teaspoonful each day should be used. Be patient and gradually find the correct dosage for your tank by observing the feeding and development of your baby shrimp. Even two shrimp tanks in the same household with identical decorations can have their own unique differences that affect the feeding and development of the shrimp.

The most important thing to remember when feeding your shrimp is that it is always better to underfeed than overfeed.
